Long Neck Funnel

The long neck funnel is also known as safety funnel because it can act as a buffer.When adding the liquid it can make the liquid flow down slowly, and leave more liquid between the neck and the bulb funnel.It is more safe to use the long neck funnel.It is widely used in gas preparation experiments.

Product Theory:when we stop adding the liquid,some liquid will be left in the long neck,so the liquid can isolate the outside air.When there is more air inside and the pressure rises,some air can be let out.
For example,during the preparation of gases such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen, etc.The long neck funnel can play an important role.Because the neck is so long,we put the end of the neck into the liquid.If more air has be generated and the pressure rises in the reaction bottle,it can prevent the reaction bottle from explosion and let out some air.It can also make the liquid flow back if low pressure.

Total there are 3 kinds of long neck funnel:
1.Straight long neck funnel 2.Straight long neck funnel with ring 3.straight long neck funnel with ring and a spare bulb.

What kind of long neck funnel shall I choose?
If the prepared gas is not easy to react in the air, nor easy to explode and the gas produced has small expansibility, the user can simply choose the straight shape long neck funnel, but if the prepared air will easliy react in the air, or easy to explode and expand quickly. Please choose the long neck funnel with a ring because it has more buffer,or even choose the funnel both a buffer ring and a bulb.

Anything we shall care during the gas preparation by using long neck funnel?
1.Please make sure one end of the neck is deeply inserted into the reacted liquid.
2.The long neck funnel should be washed thoroughly after the experiment to prevent the experimental deviation.
