1. Soaking:
We shall soak the new or used glass Petri dishes in clean water to soften and dissolve attachments. New glass Petri dishes are brushed with tap water before use and soaked in 5% hydrochloric acid overnight. Used glass Petri dishes often adhere to a large amount of protein or grease, which is difficult to brush off after drying, so it should be immediately immersed in clean water and ready for brushing after use.

2. Brushing:
Put the soaked glass Petri dishes into detergent, repeatedly brush not to leave dead corners, and prevent damage to the surface smoothness of the dishes. Then dry them, ready for pickling.

3. Pickling:
Put the glass petri dish into the cleaning solution, which is usually acid. The strong oxidation of acid can remove the protein and grease attached to the surface. The soaking time shall be at least 6 hours, generally overnight or longer. Please take care when taking it out.

4. Cleaning:
Whether the pickled Petri dishes are cleaned thoroughly directly affects the success or failure of cell culture. For manually cleaned glass Petri dishes, each container should be emptied at least 15 times by repeated water injection, soaked with distilled water 2-3 times, dried, and packaged for standby.

Precautions for using glass Petri dishes:

1. The instantaneous temperature when using glass culture dishes shall not exceed 170 ℃.
2. The liquid injected shall not exceed 2/3 of the container.
3. If you need an open flame for heating, please use asbestos mesh to make the heating uniform.
4. Glassware is as resistant to negative pressure as other glassware. Please use it correctly.
